Post subject: Four Days with Great Friends....

As always we started out with the best intentions of not arriving in Tunica to early. Well when we found out that Stew and Bev were already there! What can I say; we didn’t want to miss anything. So Pam was a little slow getting her bag out to the car, but we all made it. Off we go to begin our adventure and pursue our fortunes.
We decided early that no matter what we didn’t want to arrive until early morning, as we had done that once before and the wait for the room was not pretty after no sleep for thirty some hours! Those chairs in the lobby are not that comfortable.
Lynn sees a sign along the road for some DELUXE INN for $25-$35. Now I’m not against cheap, we only wanted a few hours sleep but, the drive thru-lobby sent red flags of warning to me…like maybe, just maybe that cheap price was by the hour!!! So then she sees another motel on the way back to the interstate. I said, “No thank you”, since the convenience store next door had bars on all the windows, I’d kind of like to know the car might still be here when we wake up. Yeah, I know Lynn, I’m picky!!! We did find a reasonable room, Best Western and Lynn caught some sleep and I relaxed. It was time to leave before I could get to sleep.
We arrived somewhere around 5:30 AM. Found Bev right off at the Stinkin Rich machine. It was so good to see her. Then Stew, who was the star of the trip. I’m so glad you got away from those doctors Stew. Don’t leave a phone number or forwarding address and maybe they won’t find you and keep you from being with us again. Brian, Buffy arrived next and it had been a long time since Buffy was here with us.
Frank and Jim joined us for a quick visit in the room before dinner. Nice to see both of you again. Good luck Jim, with the EnJoy. I’m thinking very strongly about it also.
In the room before dinner we had a fun visit. Lynn presented Brian with a nice plaque thanking him for all he has done to make Tunica Players a success. Thanks again Brian, you have done an awesome job here.
Bev brought the most delicious Red Velvet cake to the meet. This was a result of the last trip when Lynn so graciously shared her Red Velvet cake at the HS. That buffet is one of the best in Tunica, but Red Velvet cake is not even at the bottom of the list. It was gross! The one Bev baked would take a blue ribbon at any fair in the country….it was that good.
Dinner was a Fitz and it wasn’t bad, just not the best in town. Macy, Steve and Macy’s friend joined us for dinner. They were on their last night so; I’m sure glad we got to at least say hello and have dinner together.
Gambling……the best I did was on a Lil Lady Bug machine.
This was so much fun as Buffy and Bev are playing right beside me. Had a blast seeing who was going to either get the most wilds or hit the bonuses. Win or lose it’s always a fun time with friends. No big losses today or tonight.
Monday
Today as usual we all met for breakfast, and then went on to some of the other casinos for a coupon and free slot play run. I didn’t do much at Resorts but for a change I left there a little up. Then promptly lost that edge over at the Hollywood.
Back to the Fitz and had a couple nice hits on first a 2x3x5x quarter for $175 cash out. Then moved to the dollar 2x3x5x and cashed out $250.
Dinner was better I thought tonight. Maybe it’s the company…Buffy your stories are always good entertainment. Thanks for the laughs.
After dinner I was playing the HotShot Respin and really got it going. Never hit real big for I played the darn thing for about 5 hours on a $20 investment. Can’t beat that…
Tuesday
Moving day so we all get ourselves ready and move to the GS. Buffy had to leave us today….sigh L sure wish you could have been with us longer Buffy. I’m so thankful you could get away for as long as you did. I know how hectic your life is!
Brian also decided that he needed to cut his trip short. Now wait a minute we’re losing to many friends to quickly here. Brian….no more White Russian’s for you next trip!
We had a nice break in the room before Brian, left and worked on Bev’s wonderful cake. Brian, offered to take the rest of it off our hands….isn’t he sweet.
We did a small photo op since we were losing members…..toooooo quickly. I said my good-byes to Pam. This was not easy as I had really gotten attached to her being around. We’ve watched a few football games,
had dinner, had coffee and visited for quite some time now. But alas, she was going home with Bev tomorrow.
Dinner tonight was at the HS buffet which was very, very good. Was hoping that Gary and Fran would make dinner with us, but we didn’t see them. Then when we were walking over to get dessert they were there! Good to see you both and we were looking forward to having breakfast with them the next morning. So sorry that didn’t happen Gary. I hope Fran is feeling better now.
Gambling….up and down, up and down. Nothing to write home about today.
Wed.
Breakfast at the GS was very good.
The sad part was that Cheryl was leaving us today. She had to catch a plane back to Austin. Cheryl, it was so good to see you again and I can’t wait for the next time.
Today the gambling was pretty good. No really big hits but enough that I kept playing all day.
Thur.
Today is check out day, so we are down to four now. Stew, Bev, Lynn and I, we had breakfast and I told Stew and Bev good-bye. Sorry Bev I should have made that clearer. Next time I will then you’ll need to have the Kleenex ready for me. I hate those good-byes.
Played off the free play and didn’t do anything astounding but did clear a couple hundred.
On to the Fitz and played free play there. I actually made a few dollars. What a shock! In the end I actually came out even for the trip! That’s a winner to me.
Four days with great friends, that’s a JACKPOT!

Jean,
How awesome to have that much fun with friends and to come home with the same amount of money you left with. Congratulations.
In addition, I think it was so sweet of you to make sure Pam had a good time on this trip. You catered to her every want and need. Good friends don't leave good friends behind. You are a good friend.

Jean, another one in the books. It sure was a great time! Of course, I think this group might find a way to make watching paint dry fun. I can't think of another group that has 4 days of Meets! It's terrific, low key, and full of laughs. _________________

Jean, so much to comment on. So, I'll just wrap it up by saying "GREAT TRIP"! Once again you guys did a fantastic job of carrying on the Tunica Players tradition of fun and games.
I would like to say congrats to Brian on his plaque. He certainly derseved the recognition. He does one heck of big job keeping things up and running and helping make it a fun and interestng site for the members (and lurkers). _________________

Thanks Lisa, Lynn and Bobbie.
All of our trips are such a blast, the only down moments are when we speak of our friends that didn't make it. We know life has a way of getting in the way of the best plans, so we understand, but we sure miss y'all just the same. _________________ Jean

Jean, I really enjoyed reading your trip report and seeing all the pictures. You know I liked that lady bug one! lol
You sure showed Mini-Me such a great time, I'm sure she cried when you left. All of you are wonderful and took such great care of "me". LOL
Love the picture of Brian with his plaque, he definitely deserves it for all the stuff he does for this site, and the stuff he does for Us as well. We love him...but shhhhhh don't tell him that. LOL
Thanks for a wonderful trip report Jean, I'm planning on being at the next one, "sorry mini me....you did great standing in but it's my time." LOL
Love ya!! _________________

Awesome report Jean! I don't know how you remember all the details, but
I'm sure glad you do.
It helps me relive some great times when I read reports like yours, ynns, and others..
And what a great time I had.
Y'all did a super job of "Ideating," planning the meet and preparing Mini Me for the trip
which she helped to be successful.
I sure had a great time sharing time with you and everyone. It was over almost as soon as it started,
even though we got a bit of an early start, it didn't last long enough!
I still need more instruction on slots from you and the others. I'm such a beginner with these newfangled ones ....
I still see the old 3 reels, nickel slot and tray for the payoff coins that I rarely saw!
Thanks for making this meet such fun and for such great support for this lonesome old geezer.
For me, this meet was a great success!
Thank you, my dear MACdonalds's Buddy!
