Post subject: Houston, we *REALLY* have a problem.

It started about 8:00 AM this morning.... a email popped up at my other job telling us to post signs on gas pumps limiting gas to 10 gallons per car.. as seen below.
So there it began... questions... but no answers. The day progressed and the internet rumors started and the local medias picked them up and started reporting .. short supply of gas... stations are running out of gas... $5.50 a gallon by midnight....
And here's the result.....
This is insanity... if there was a gas shortage and stations all over the nation were running out of gas do you honestly think gas would be $3.60 a gallon? Not just no, hell no.. it would be $5 gallon.
It's situations like pictured above that are going to cause a gas shortage. If a reporter was smart they would go from car to car and see exactly how much gas was in each tank of those and see if these maroons really have a reason to be sitting in line for hours to top off their tanks.
Mass hysteria pretty much sums it up. If you have a group of people and one of those people screams and turns and runs most likely the rest of the group will do the same thing. Same thing with gas.. if people see a line of cars at the gas pumps, most likely they'll get in line too because obviously those other people know something you don't.
My advice for this situation, take your ass home and sit down. If you run out of gas, you're out of gas, tough shit, stay at home.

And the latest rumor just into the email box....
Gas station owners are now telling customers they're out of gas and hoarding what they have until they get they can raise the gas price to make more money....

News reports are at fault for many of the gas prices rising and falling. If they talk about someone passing gas in Arabia, the news will predict it will affect gas prices. Yep...sure enough the next hour they go up 30 cents, then 3 days later go down 20 cents. No one really knows why, just happy they came down. People are so gullible.
Hope things settle down and people stop listening to ....oh well, you know that's not going to happen.
