Post subject: How many Video Poker games can you comfortably play?
|
|
|
|
We went to Harrah's in St Louis for the first time in a year. I was told that they had a bank of 12 machines containing games with good pay tables. I found these machines, but discovered that each machine contained only one game. This meant a lot of waiting to get the game of your choice. Several people seemed to have no trouble sitting down at whatever was available, no matter what the game. I don't have the ability to comfortably play games that I haven't practiced, unless I can convince myself that it is a game that basic JOB strategy won't cause a problem with. I was just wondering how many different games the typical Tunica Player would play, if the pay tables were O.K.

Good topic. It is getting to be a real gamble on where to find the very few (if any) decent pay VP games in a casino. Then being able to get on it before you are broke from passing the time on other games.
I enjoy a varied mixture of games myself. Table play, slots and VP, I guess I get to bored with anything after a while. I do try to have at least some basic knowledge of any game before putting that cold hard cash out there...LOL _________________ Jean

I can usually hold my own on JOB and DB and DDB mostly chasing 4OAK (w/kickers on the latter). And very briefly white hot aces. _________________ W2G free since 1976
It's better to be out playing the slots than sitting at home wondering if they're hitting.

I generally stick with J/B and DDB. Since they are pretty popular, it makes them easier to find, assuming they are full pay. I have tried other games, All American when it was once abundant at Sheraton but I practiced a lot at home and still never quite mastered it. Nowadays it's no longer available anywhere so I stick to my two fav's that I still practice on.
I never play a VP game that I am not familar with because I have no idea what the payback might be nor the correct strategy. The simpler the better for me!
Cheers

Guess I am an echo - JOB and DDB. I used practice Dueces Wild, but could never enjoy playing it.
