1st there's Lisa and her escapades, then we have Luna's week last week. Guess it was my turn today.
We put in a new tub surround enclosure a couple of weeks ago, after discovering that the re-grouting project wasn't going to work due to mold behind the tiles. Got that cleaned up and installed the surround. I purposely selected this one because it was more sturdy than the others we'd seen, so I thought it would hold up better.
Well, guess it doesn't hold up well against clumsy old fat women. Took my shower this morning, got out of the tub, then remembered that one of the shower doors wasn't sliding too well, so I stepped back into the tub to clean out the drain. There was my fatal mistake. I guess someone thought I was doing the hokey pokey or something, because I had one foot in and one foot out, and slipped, falling against the shower surround, with my elbow making a nice crack on one of the stupid shelves. My elbow is pretty hacked up, but I'm thinking the surround is probably worth more money. I'm hoping the repair kit I just went out and got will work.
We've lived in this house for 5 or 6 years and I've taken many more than this ONE shower, and have never fallen in the tub. As a matter of fact, I can't remember EVER falling in the tub. Get something new in there, though, and look what happens!

Oh Lynn! Glad to hear it was only the shelf that got cracked and not your head! Geez, this has not been a good month for accidents. Hope you get your shower fixed.
Perhaps for christmas you could get the kids to buy you "Life Alert"..............I've fallen and I can't get up!!!!!! LOL. Maybe one for you and one for me!
Hope your bruises heal up quick and the shower can be fixed!
Cheers

OMG! Another one down! Lynn, I am so sorry you ripped up your elbow. Especially after all the work you had just done to the shower. That was the double whammy of accidents for sure. OUCH all over the place!
I hate to say it, but the Lucy list sure seems to be growing and growing . Not good. Please everyone, BE CAREFUL! We don't need any more stairway ballet, backyard slip n'slide, extreme frisbee or bathtub hokey pokey. If this list gets any longer we'll have to hold our next meet at the hospital. And we all know how far away from the casino that is. Right?
