Hello Gambo Friends!
I just wanted to testify....

Awhile back, I asked Kim about her experience with "electric cigarettes" (personal vaporizers or PV's).

We wanted to quit smoking.....on the other hand, the LAST thing we wanted to do was quit smoking. We loved smoking! Thanks to our PV's--we did BOTH!!

I haven't smoked an "analog" cig since June 25 (Pete a few days less)! The EASIEST way to quit I've ever seen!! I got a grandma at my son's swim class to switch--40 years/2 packs/day--stopped smoking the day she got her e cig. I gave one to my Dad --it took him a couple of months to get off analogs --but he did it! My Mom is thrilled--if only for "quiet mornings without all that god awful hacking!!"

It's all the nicotine you love without all the tar & poisons! (It's not the nicotine that kills you, it's the 3000 other ingredients & smoke) Amazing!!
We went through 3 models before we found the right "vape". It's called "Titan 510", and we got them at this site:

Totally Wicked--they have a good forum to read and videos of regular "vapers"
(not smokers!!) as well.

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/

Here's a decent forum to read:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/

Vaping is very much like smoking but without the smell &
death!
I like it BETTER than smoking and I did that for 23 years! We don't cough
anymore and are saving TONS of money. You can take what was a nasty habit and
turn it into a fun new hobby!! LOL
Healthier and not so smelly,
Julia (& Pete)

Julia............
explain this to me.  I really want to try it.  I buy the e-gig for $65..............and then I have to buy the flavorings?  where do I buy those?  Do you have to buy extra batteries?  How long will it last?  Details, details, details!  I am ready to kick the regular butts to the curb.  How long does it take to get it after I order?

Cheers

"...and then I have to buy the flavorings? "

No--they sell the "juice" already flavored(many flavors, including tobacco). Some folks like to mix their own--I don't. Pete buys menthol and adds peppermint flavoring to it to give it extra flavor. I take mine like it comes.

"Do you have to buy extra batteries?  How long will it last?"

Your "starter kit" will have two. You vape one while the other is on charge. Then switch out as needed. We usually get 3-4 hrs of moderate use out of each charge. The batteries say they are good for 300 charges. Mine are still good. What will die and need replacing is the "atomizer" ---they go about six weeks to two months (sometimes longer?). So, there is a continuous expense (juice, attys, etc)--BUT nothing like what real cigs cost you (Including priceless health). After you get all set up--you can vape for about $40 a month.

You can expect your order to arrive within a week (7-10 days tops).
Julia

NOW PETE HAS HIS OWN COMMENTS:

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAvORITE PERKS OF E SMOKING:
NO burn holes in shirt
NO ashes blowin everywhere
NO Stink
When u light an analog cig the timer starts. Any interruption you have to extinguish early- losing $$$, You simply put the vape in your pocket
*Caution:  WHen crossing over to e cigs DON"T LIGHT THE E CIG ( Yes I have) and DON't put the analog lit in your pocket-(I've come close)
NO lighter expense
When the clerk asks SMoking? Answer however u wish-IT DOESN'T matter
When u hold the hit in the vapor dissipates allowing u truly to smoke anywhere.
good breath
NO MORNING HACK (AFter a week off analogs)
NO recurrent Hack throughout the day
Seems now I always have a few bucks in my pocket.
My singing voice came back
I really truly feel better.
The first day off of analogs was still antsy-a bit of  anxiety- DAy 2 Gone.
I don't wake up the kids in the AM with my bark.
Finally, I had a gal actually say to me "But aren't u worried about the long term effects?" I told her frankly,"LADY HAVE U READ THE SIDE OF A CIGARETTE BOX? It say's "these kill ya....right on the box. " That considered, this is fundamentally the most important invention healthwise, in our generation. Millions of lives will be saved, billions of dollars will be saved, PLUS WE FINALLY GeT TO STICK IT BACK TO THE TOBACCO COMPANIES

Pete n Julia,

Congratulations for kicking the habit.  Welcome to the non smoking world.  It was the hardest thing I ever did 17 years ago but the best thing I ever did.

You are so right about all the negative aspects and the money you save.

Hopefully you can inspire others to kick the habit as you did.  I am very happy for both of you.

Bobbie

Julia and/or Pete,

OK--I'm convinced now--I'm gonna try it.  I've been thinking about it, and you've put me over the edge!

Do you buy yours from the "Totally Wicked" place?  Do they ship from US or UK?  Their website looks like they're in the UK.  I was wondering if there's any customs/duties problems with them, if they are in the UK.

Yes. Wicked is a reliable site.
They are based in the UK--but they have a distributor in Florida. I think folks in the US get their stuff shipped from there.
Hi Gallatin! There's a guy in Hendersonville that sells juice at puresmoker.com. I ordered from there once--no problems.

Julia

I am THIS close to placing an order from tottaly wicked.  I think I am going with the 510 full PCC  kit.  Do you think that would be a good starter?  Or do you recomend one of the other kits?  I want to make sure I get a good one so I am not disappointed and don't use it!  And I plan to get two of the flavoring..........spearmint and cinnamon, just to try them out.   Let me know what you think, so I don't screw this up.  I really want to do this!

Cheers

The PCC kit will be great IF you also order an extra battery and another atomizer. That way you can vape and have a batt charging in wait.

Hmmm. Maybe just a regular "starter kit" would be a better. The PCC kit has stuff in it we got after we were sure we were "vaping" for good.
The portable charger is sweet to have, though.

As long as you have TWO batteries and an spare atty---which a regular starter kit has.

Spearmint and cinnamon are the next flavors I was wanting to try!
We were menthol people, so mints are good to us.

Check your PM's.

Good luck everybody!
We really think you'll be amazed how close vaping feels like smoking.

We also can't wait to try ours in a casino. One of the BEST places to enjoy smoking was while gaming/partying in a casino. (And one of the last places on earth it was still "acceptable".) Hell, Tunica's one the last places you get a smoking option in restaurants. We're dying to compare smoking vs vaping on a gambo outing! LOL
*sigh*
We just have no real plans on the horizon. But, someday!!

Well, I did it.

I found someone right here in Shawnee, Oklahoma selling those things.  So, after getting a demonstration yesterday, I went back and bought one today.  We'll see how this works out on my trip to Las Vegas next week.  Between the e-cig and my trusty nicotine gum, I hope to completely avoid actual smoking.

Just a few obsevations from a new "Vaper".

First, it is a little daunting to see it when it arrives...........I took a long look at it and thought......this will NEVER work.  LOL.   I puffed a little on it the first day...........kinda cool.....but not the real thing.  Tried a few flavorings.........be careful, don't mix them if you are new at this...........this is day 4 for me and I am finally starting to get the hang of it and it's feeling more like the "real" thing.  I started out with the lowest nicotine cartridge and it works perfect for me.

It does take some getting used to and the best way to get past the "fake" feel is to NOT have any real cigarettes handy.   Once this is all you have to smoke it's easier to get comfortable with it.

I am very happy with mine.  I bought the Titan 510 PCC kit and it came with everything including a cigarette pack that holds and charges my batteries, also had a car charger and one that hooks up to my computer to charge.  Love it.  By this time next week I hope to fully weened from analog butts.  It's a nice feeling to think I DON'T have to go buy a carton of cigaretts each week or so.

Thanks to Kim, Julia and Pete................you guys did a good thing.........(RJ Reynolds will be filing a lawsuit soon,)     Thanks.

Thanks Bobbie!  I am very happy for me too!   I think the more I use it the better I like it.  I had bought a flavor called cinnamon bun........LOL......they were out of regular cinnamon......it smells wonderful but it's not that good to smoke!  Spearmint is good though.  Anyway it's all good.

Cop......good luck with yours, I don't think you will be sorry.  Just be careful with them, they are kinda heavy and I dropped one of them on the concrete yesterday...........peices went every where!  I did manage to get it put back together and it seems to work fine.  But it could have been a disaster...........I only had one with me.   Soon we will be a board of VAPERS!  LOL.

I also noticed that Totally Wicked has everything on sale for 30% off right now..............grrrrr..............after I bought mine.  So stock up now kids!

Cheers

Just FYI.

Southwest Airlines specifically lists e-cigarettes as NOT being allowed to be used on the aircraft.
