Lynn arrived on Friday afternoon this time and we had some time to really relax and visit this time. Lynn, had never really seen much of Springfield so I drove around many of the Lincoln sites for her to see. Then we came back and had pizza for dinner and chilled out. Sorry about no dessert Lynn…(I wasn’t sharing those “Dunkin Donuts”) that you bring me. Thank you, Lynn!

Our Tunica Player’s trip started a bit different this time.  First of all it was daylight, and we actually slept before hitting the road.  Nice easy drive, no rush as we had to be in Memphis to pick up Jeanine at the airport we had left early enough to cover any unexpected delays.  In fact we arrived in plenty of time to check into the hotel and then go to the airport.

The game of ring-a-round the rosy at the airport probably has Lynn’s car and license plate number on file for suspicious characters now. I’m sure the elevated terrorist alert to orange was a direct result of “Thelma & Louise”.
At last Jeanine arrives and we get out fast, I have a feeling a wrong turn would have landed us in the interrogation room.

We had all decided that we were going to have some of Memphis’s famous BBQ and the Interstate BBQ was very close to the airport so that was the one we ate at. Very good, only we ordered more than we could eat. Jeanine did save the day when she ordered the extra sauce. They didn’t put enough on the ribs or the pulled pork in my opinion.

Onto the hotel and rest up for tomorrow when the whole gang arrives. The hotel was quite nice and the location was good. Lots of restaurants and stores close by.

We manage to get to the Fitz fairly early, considering Lynn just happened to turn the light on, open the door, drop something, cough, run the water…and Jeanine and I just happen to wake up… Jeanine won the bet, so I got the Tab.
Brian, was the first to arrive, then Chuck, Pam and Bev. Now the gangs all here, let the fun begin!
It was so nice to meet Jim and Frank from the forum. Had some fun and laughs at a slot pull...they probably know we are certifiably crazy for sure now. really enjoyed meeting them both and hope they can join us each time we go.

I’m not going to repeat a lot of things from Lynn’s report so I will get right to the gambling. At the Fitz it was not good. I couldn’t get anything going on $1, $5 machines. Quarters were not much better. I hit some sevens on the .25 Blazing Sevens upstairs and cashed out a couple hundred. Then I played the Lucky Irish upstairs and cashed $300 out.  Down stairs I hit a big “Jackpot” on the Lucky Irish .05 for a $76.76 hand pay!!!  I got a lot of play on the penny Quick Hit Platinum’s upstairs and that pretty well sums up the hits at the Fitz. The slot tournament was fun and the best thing was one of our group came in second…..Jeanine! WTG!!!!  She worked really hard to make that prize turn into cold hard cash. Great job…Jeanine!

We moved to the Gold Strike on Tuesday and the nice thing was we got connecting rooms. So three bathrooms for four women was a good thing…
Ran into Ed and Cay, coming off the elevator, was nice chatting with them.
Gambling at GS wasn’t much better than Fitz. I did hit a W2G on a quarter Times Bonus, I hit 10x-red seven-5x for $1250. This was the biggest hit for me and all other play was win a little, lose a lot.  Again $1 and the $5 slots were just not in a playing mood.  We played in the slot tournament there and I was surprised to come in a place winner for $100.

The play was fun but, not profitable at all. Lynn, pretty much covered the food (since I ate everywhere she did) we’ve had better and sometimes worse so it was ok. The one thing I can always count on is a good time with really special people. Loved every minute spent with everyone. The sad part of this trip was that Stew, Lisa and Bobbie couldn’t make it. Insert Pam’s phrase here…( ….) and we hope that never happens again!

Brian, I bet if you look really hard, some of those little “Lady Bugs” followed you home.

Till next time.

Ok…Ok…I was the dunce that dried her hair under the counter.

Jean, I wasn't going to squeal on you.  Honest!  That's probably the only one of them that had them guessing. LOL.

It sure was another great trip!  As you said, we really missed those who weren't able to come.  Lisa, Stew, Bobbie---hopefully next time is a charm! And Luna, we really need to get you in this mix.  I have a feeling things would really get crazy then!  LOL.

Hey, maybe next time if gambling is bad we can go outside and pitch pennies in the parking garage. LOL.

The best part is the company.  Can't imagine a bad trip with this group no matter how mad the gambling is!  Great report!

Jean, great report! I know you all such a good time. As usual, sounds like lots of laughs, good eats and enjoying some of the best companionship there is. Makes for a great trip despite  those tight you-know-what machines. All though, it does sound like you did wrangle up a good hit. That had to put a smile on your face.  WTG!

And once again it's comforting to know that you and your chauffeur made the trip without getting into too much trouble, or causing some sort of national emergency. Even though it did sound like you were pushing your luck at the airport. LOL

Believe me, I was thinking about what I was missing the entire time you were gone, and am in hopes that entire bunch of us will be able to meet up in the fall.

Jean,

What a great report.  Congratulations on the wins you did get, especially the one at GS.  That was nice.  Sorry to hear it was not a completely winning trip but I think you won in so many other ways.  You had some very good company and lots of laughs.

It took a lot of guts to fess up to the hairdryer issue.  I am very proud of you Jean.  That was funny!

Lisa, we need to break this "RECORD" we seem to have going.  I have not seen you since 2002 and it is always because someone can't make it to Tunica.  This time I was on the list too!   Next time!!!

Jean, I am so glad you had a good time.  Glad to see everyone made it home safely.

Bobbie

Bobbie, you're right. It's been way too long. After the gang that just returned catches their breath we need to get our heads together and start planning again.

Jean, great trip report.  We did have fun didn't we?  There's just never enough time to do everything we want to do but we sure do manage to cram alot in.   This trip just seemed to go by even faster than normal.  We'll just have to keep practicing!! LOL

At least you gave me a laugh before we left on Thursday....hair dryer incident. ROFL  Wish I'd seen it.
