Ok, we finally got here at about 6 last night, I was puzzled as to why when the GPS said we'd be here in 5 and a half hours it took 7 and a half and my protest was well known from the back seat where I laid and never went to sleep.

Checked in, I think I've figured out this room thing at Fitz, if you ask for a deluxe room you get one of the newest remodeled rooms. When we checked in the lady at the front desk said we had a deluxe room on the 7th floor, so I'll ask for a deluxe from now on, although I shouldn't have to, if you know what I mean.

Got to the room and grabbed a quick shower and off we went to make my fortune.. riiiiiiiiiight.

They've taken just about every game I like to play out and replaced it with the stupid fad machines like Wizard of Oz, Dean Martin and all his clones and those god forsaken Mr Cashman machines are back in droves, I couldn't believe my eyes. I started out looking for quarter Wheel of Fortune and found it a few hours later downstairs in the bottom corner where the new penny wheels used to be, they hoovered some cash right up with only 1 spin worth 20 quarters.. yeah that's exactly the reason I play them.

All of the Red Hot Jackpot penny multi-level progressives are gone, Diamond Jackpots.. gone, Multi-Strike Triple Diamond.. gone, Indiana Jones.. gone and my money was getting gone looking for stuff. I might have to rename this trip to "Everything I wanted to play was gone and I think I should have been too"

There's not much in gambling highlights from the first night, played from 6:30 PM till 3:00 AM. I wasn't getting robbed but I wasn't winning either. The highlight of the night came from a Blazin 7 machine where I got any 7's two spins in a row.. not much for a highlight, eh? Mike cashed out 300 or 400 from various machines but no big huge hits. It's really weird I didn't see any taxable handpays at all last night, although I did see several of those stupid $500 and $600 handpays in the dollar area, why have ticket printers if the bigger hits are going to be handpays?????

Here's a cute little story for you. I was playing nickel Wheel of Fortune and the door kept popping open and making the game stop, so when it would I'd slam the door back closed and game was back on. I got tired of playing and hit cashout, ticket printing sounds and then the beeping noise to take your ticket, but there wasn't a ticket hanging out of the printer. I told Mike to go find someone, he told one of the guards and they said they'd call someone. 45 minutes later I'm still sitting there waiting on someone. I picked up the phone and called the 1-800 number and told the hotel operator that I had been sitting for nearly an hour with a ticket jam waiting on someone, she said she'd call a slot tech and have them right over. Another 40 minutes pass and I finally hail down a guard and ask her to stand here for a minute and I go out in search of a slot attendant. Find a group of them, must've been a staff meeting, and finally get my damn ticket. Ridiculous.

We'll travel today and see what happens elsewhere this afternoon, after slow driver gets done watching soap operas

Oh yeah, if you have been around the past few trips you may or may not have notice reports of an ashtray shortage at Fitz, well it continues and now it's spread to the guest rooms, evidently you only get 1 ashtray per room now and 1 ashtray per bank of slot machines in the casino.

Brian, I sure hope today goes better for you!  Guess I'll have to remember to cart and ashtray around with me next trip as soon as I find one.  Are they trying to tell us something?

Brian, I sure hope you have much better luck today!  I know how you feel about your favorite machines being gone, as some of my favorites were gone during our April meet.  Are the ashtrays even more rare than our last trip?  It was hard enough to find one then!  Hope you have a big fat win today!

Sounds like Brian has had a bleak start.  Got to keep your chin up !!!!!

We just did a junket to Tunica June 17th . . . . . please see my last trip report for TUNICA.  Looks like NO MORE 'Free' junkets for us  . . . . .  we just do not meet their charity minimumns.  We had 3 great free junket trips from Harrah's over the last 3 months.  We have now received a Harrah's offer for the same trip . . . . . . but will cost us $270 each.  No way that will happen.  Looks like a drive coming up for 'Cheroke'.

As much as I and many here donated to the Fitz last trip, you'd think they could have bought a few cases of ashtrays.

Brian, I hope today has been a profitable day for you!

Brian,
Hope you had better luck today on your tour of other casinos.  I guess we'll definitely have to start toting ashtrays with us. LOL

I'll be waiting to hear about some wins!!  GOOD LUCK!
