A Bad RerunWe left here Sunday about 11:30, had clear roads the only problem was trying to stay on them. The wind was blowing 35-40mph. Got to Harrah's at 1:30 and I went to just check in, not believing for a minute that the room would be available. Guess the numbers are down for hotel guests also, as we got our room right then.
Room was great they have redone all their rooms since I was there. Pretty much like the Fitz and GS rooms. Very compfy beds and the decor was very nice. Fridge's under a console (like the ones at Fitz) with a nice big flat screen tv.
Gambling crowds....did I say crowds? Not many players at all, only about half the tables were open and that might be stretching it. I never seen one...did you hear me...not one hand pay! I watched for lights showing any jackpots and nada.
We ate dinner Sunday night at the big beautiful buffet that they built just a year or so ago. The sad thing is there was so few people there.
Okay....I know, you want to know about the gambling. We played, we lost, we played, we lost.....need I say more.
They had many of the tables closed. Only one crap table, maybe five BJ tables and only two of them full....which were the $10 tables. There were areas of slots that were completely empty. Wierd feeling, kind of like being on a deserted island. I couldn't find not one Stinking Rich machine!
About 5 PM Cathi and I went to eat dinner at the Voo Doo Lounge, right after we ordered, she got an alert on her Blackberry for weather. Forcast of snow during the night, followed by freezing rain in the morning.....OH JOY! So we decide that we'll finish dinner and check out and head home. It's not like we're winning!
We arrived home last night, and sure enough snow during the night. Freezing rain this morning. I sure hope this melts so all the people on the road can get to where they want for Christmas.
I wish I could have reported a few nice wins.....but that didn't happen. We did have a nice time, just getting out and having fun was what it's all about.
As I close, I want to wish y'all a very warm and happy Christmas.

Well Jean, I guess the Grinch beat you there.. that sucks that you didn't win anything at all. Well maybe since you donated Harrah's won't be asking for a bailout.

Jean, I sure wish there'd have been a Christmas jackpot for you and Cathi. Glad you got out and had some fun, but it's a shame there were no winnings. You are due for a winning trip, since the last couple have been busts.

Jean after your last few traveling reports I believe you need to stay home. You & Weather just don't mix. I think hanging out at home until spring sounds about right! Sorry to hear there was no winning (for anyone apparently) but at least you got off the block and did something besides clean, and clean and clean some more.
Next time, wait for GOOD weather and then you will win! I'm sure of it! I'd offer you a guarantee on that if I had any money left .
Hope your holiday was great!
Cheers

Jean, sorry to hear you and Cathi didn't have a winning trip. I'm sure it was nice to get out of town for a while, but to have come back with a jackpot tale or too would've been lots better.
I'm just glad you got back home before that lousy weather set in. Ugh..........the long, cold, snowy winter. There's only one cure for it - think TUNICA! That's right. We need to start getting our heads together on it pretty soon. Gives us something to live for until spring.

Thanks all!
Planning a Tunica trip....now that's a good idea, Lisa. Luna's advice to wait for spring would work out well then too.

JeanHi Jean, sorry to hear the trip wasn't a winner, but as everyone says you did get out for a little.
Too bad the weather chased you home, or else you would have had a winning time! I'm sure of it, it just took more time! And money! LOL.
Nest time will be better!
Just wait for good weather.
And good luck when you do go!
