A surgical strike in a local casinoLast night, I went to the local Indian casino - the Firelake Grand. I go there to play Texas Holdem. Since I live alone, I sometimes get tired of just rattling around an empty house; and, I don't go bar hopping or anything; and, it's too wet for golf. So, anyway, I went.
I got on the list for a 3-6 limit game and went to the bar to wait to get buzzed. (They have these beeper things like a lot of restaurants) While waiting, I ordered a beer and started playing some video poker to while away the time. I started at the 25 cent level and promptly lost $20. I thought, "that sucks", so, I decided I was not going to be treated that way and I WAS going to get that $20 back. I switched to $1 level and put in $100. In no time, that was gone and I was thinking, "Ed, you are a dumbass!" But, undeterred, I put in another $100 and promised myself if I just got back to even, I'd quit and just go sit by the poker room. I played that and it steadily dwindled to the point that I had only $20 left. Now, I was thinking, "Ed, you are a world-class dumbass!" And, then, up popped four deuces for a $1000 payout. The machine rang them up and registered $1020. At that point, I cashed out and went to the cage to get my money. I walked away up $800 and, just then, they buzzed me for my seat in the poker room. I played for almost three hours and finished ahead $20 at poker for a net win of $820 for the evening.
So, that was my evening. It helped ease the pain of my Las Vegas losses last weekend.

Ed, most people go to bars to get buzzed. Glad you had a winning trip. I might be going there this week end to play Tsunami Keno. I usually have good luck on that.

That's the only kind of buzz I would want in a casino. I make those dumbass decisions quite often without the help of alcohol..LOL. Sure glad you hung in there for good payoff. WTG Ed!

WTG Ed! Usually I'm the one that keeps calling myself a dumbass but keeps losing and doesn't get that win I was looking for. Glad you came out ahead.
