Amazing how fast it goes.....Sunday afternoon when I got off work I had some winning lottery tickets on my visor, not much, just ticket here $5 there that I didn't feel like cashing in till I had a stack. So I gathered them up and hauled them in the store and had about $24 worth of winners, so I reinvested and won more and reinvested and won more and so on. When I was finished I had about 30X what I started with.. not bad for 10 minutes.
Monday rolls around and I'm trying to clean out my car before someone calls Ripleys Believe It or Not and Mike comes out and asks if I want to go to the mountains. Believing I was sill on a lucky streak I say sure. So we take his mom and drop her off in Athens, being the techno-nerd I am I tote along the laptop with Microsoft Streets & Trips 2009 and GPS sensor to get the short cut across the mountains, all looks well.
We take off, following the voice navigation, get out in the middle of nowhere and it says to turn left on this street, Joe Brown Highway County Road 618, OK I thought, it's a highway so must be a 2 lane at least.. WRONG.. about 34 miles of sheer drop off on one side and dense forest on the other and a lane and a half of gravel road. What astounded me was the fact that despite not being any sort of traveled road, there were houses on this road. Being the middle of the night and no cellular service and no gun I had visions of Texas Chainsaw Massacre but we finally got to the next turn. I don't think I've ever been so happy to see paved road with lines painted on them.
We stop in Murphy and eat at Arbys and finally get to the casino about 11:00 PM. Used the discount mid-week valet parking for only $6, term used loosely, as soon as we walked in I heard them announcing a group of 4 cars that needed to move their cars, little did I know I would know the description of the cars and tag numbers by heart by the time I left.
Started with quarters.. nothing, moved to nickels, nothing, moved to pennies, nothing, but I did notice the 2 Stinkin' Rich penny machines were relocated and boosted to nickels. So I moved back to quarter machines and put $100 in a Triple Diamond Haywire and it ate $50 in the blink of an eye, not being one to give up easily I kept playing and it finally started paying me back a little at a time and I got it up to $125 and moved away from it before it got more. Moved over to a nickel Monopoly, $100 in, 1 bonus of 60 nickels and $0 out. Although I was being encouraged by the constant announcements of winners, $2500, $12,000, $7500, etc and you can imagine how happy I was for them.
Not real sure what happened after that but evidently there wasn't much winning since when we left at 4:30 AM I had lost $650. Although they did announce the same group of cars every 15 minutes the whole time we were there, why not just call a tow truck? Next time I have a stroke of luck on scratch tickets I'll be sure to punch myself in the balls and call it a day.

ROFL - Hey Brian, I wasn't thinking Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I was thinking more along the lines of Deliverance. Glad you made it there alive! Just wish you'd got back home with some winnings. Dang. I thought you were on some sort of a big lucky streak too. Maybe this trip was just a minor bump in the road and all the rest will see you being Mr. O'Lucky again. I hope so anyway!

Brian, we definitely must be related. LOL. I sure wish you had won again, but at least I'm glad your Tunica stash wasn't put in any danger. Maybe we need to be GA buddies, like AA buddies or something. Just say no?
Nice lottery wins. Glad you made it to and back from the casino in one piece. Wish it had been with loads of cash, though. I'm thinking you'll hit it BIG in Tunica, though.

Brian, when you got out of there with money last time you should have known it was an odd quirk of nature. Sorry they got any of your winnings but I think your new strategy will work out much better in the long run!
Cheers

ROFL Brian! You do have some adventures. I'm with Lisa, I was thinking Deliverance too. LOL
WTG on winning money on scratch offs but sorry Cherokee took it away from you. They are sneaky like that. lol
Your new strategy might be painful, but it will cost you less money. LOL
Here's hoping your winning streak will be back in time for our April trip.
So, did the tag numbers and car descriptions run through your head all night while you were trying to sleep? LOL
