Late TRI almost made it to Tunica on Friday nite but had to stopover to watch the VP debate.
I did get there Sat. morning enroute to an old buddy’s house in Olive Branch, but he was working until noon so I snuck by Harrah’s for a little play on the way! I played some low
Pay VP and surprised myself with a win of a few bucks ( 50 ) and then went to visit. I returned to Tunica on Sunday morning, but while talking to Pam on the cell phone and driving down I69, I thought I had missed the get off for Fitz, so I turned around, drove about six or eight miles and NOPE ! I hadn’t missed a turn, so back I went. I’m glad it wasn’t a toll road. Anyhow, I got to Fitz a bit later than I had told Jean, Lynn and Beverly, and they were waiting with the fussin’ stick when I came out of the parking garage. They didn’t hurt me too bad, though.
It was great to see those beautiful smiling faces after all this time. I was triple blessed!
Three beautiful gals— count’em, three! See what I mean?
I was so glad to see them that I forget what we did for a little while. At some point we met Gary ( With great pleasure ) and went up to his suite, met his wife Fran ( Another great pleasure). They were just like we’d known them forever in just a few minutes… Keno and Donna ( More treasured old friends ) came too and we had quite a gathering in that suite. I was jest tickled to death to see everyone! We had a great time talking and then tried to see Lynn’s DVD on the laptop that I am still training, but we never could get the sound right, so we ran through the DVD but didn’t really get the full effects of it.
After I got home to Texas, I saw it and realized that it is a truly great production! Thanks Lynn, and Brian and whoever produced and directed it---- it’s simply Great! After some visiting time we went down to play a little before dinner. I had a pretty good session at craps and Gary caught up with me & said we were ready to eat so, eat we did.
I don’t remember all the good meals we had but the food and company were exceptional at every one! Thanks to everyone for making all meals so good—and there is no way that food so good and company so much fun could begin to be fattening or bad in any way!
Friends, at my age and speed, I can’t begin to remember the experiences with gambling for those six days.. I do recall that I won fifty on Saturday morning on less than full pay VP at Harrahs—with just a few minutes play. After that the VP was extremely tough on me. I lost and lost at Fitz, and GS but did manage a small win at Sam’s town on Monday
When I hit quad 3’. But the slots were still not cooperating with me. Craps save the day for me ( As well as the whole trip).. I never did have any big wins but three or four times a day I could go to the tables for a short stay and win some of my money back. All the while enjoying the fun of the gang and all of that wonderful food.
Beverly and I had some free play at Sam’s and went there for a while and then we went to Harrah’s for dinner with the gang, played a bit but could not hit any winners. We all wanted to try Paula’s Buffet and I sure am glad we did. It was great in my opinion. The fried chicken was almost as good as Doris’s used to be and nearly as good as my mama’s! And that’s braggin’ folks, braggin’!!! The dessert station was indescribable!
I could just stand there and drool !! It really looked good and all that I tried was GOOD!
I was impressed with the buffet’s food quantity as well as quality! I think it would take three days to try everything and then another three days to come back for seconds! It was that good! I only found two items that were not up to par with all the rest—Pulled pork was dried out, tough and tasteless and the corn on the cob was too. Everything else was great!
We had to say goodbye to Beverly on Tuesday,(Ed, Gary & Fran had left us on Monday)
That left Jean, Lynn and me to do the battles for our whole team.. I think we put up a valiant fight—I know Lynn was doing well, while Jean and I kept putting up the good fight! I stayed pretty even but was way ahead if you count the great food that I ate!
The girls left on Thursday morning and I was left all alone. We separated after breakfast with each of us going to play our free play and I didn’t catch back up with them before they hit the road, like Thelma and Louise usually do—in a cloud of dust!
I moved to Sam’s Town and kept bouncing up and down like a yo – yo! I went up to take a nap in late afternoon but overslept until nearly time for the Debate so I went to the snack shop, got myself a chicken / Salad and “ Dined” while watching TV in my room.
After that, I went to the craps table and lost down to within ten bucks of my quota when we had a couple of good rolls. I colored out and was about 200 bucks winner. Bringing me to within two hundred of my original bankroll. Two hundred for nearly six days of almost non stop gambling sounds mighty good to me! So good that I’m planning to hit Vegas about Oct. 22nd. For a few days! LOL.
Another perk on this trip: While at GS -- Tuesday, I think, I met up with Memphis Cay and it was good to see her but I couldn’t locate Memphis Ed. A bit later I was playing craps when Terri and Barry came by and we chatted for a few minutes. It was great to see them again also. I really had some good luck at things other than gambling this time.
Our wonderful gang of trouble makers would make a trip to the Sahara Desert fun, so, I’m still counting my blessings for they’re acceptance of me into the gang!
That’s quite a blessing for a crochety old frog!
Hey, y’all, When do we start the planning another trip?

Hey, Stew, it was a great time! I can hardly wait to do it again. Hopefully next time the WHOLE gang will be there! Glad you made a comeback the last night at Sam's. $200 down for the whole week is a big win in my book. Glad the craps games kept you in the running for the week-too bad the VP didn't cooperate this time. You never know, do you?

Stew - You've logged another good trip! Sounds like you held your own pretty well with the slots and tables. I would not have come out near as well as you did for the length of your trip. And, all of that good food you got to enjoy with the rest of the gang - that is certainly a WINNA!
Just wish those of us that were stuck at home could've been part of the story. We will, next time. You guys can't do this again with out us!

Good trip report, Stew. All of the reports have been good and I enjoy reading them as they let me be back at Tunica again. Lynn's pictures get my vote for first place as pictures of family is always great. Gary's pictures came in a close second as they were so good. And my pictures a very distant third.

Keno, no such thing as a bad pic when you're having fun with friends and family. Heck, I think of my friends on here as family as well! It's so fun to look at the pics and remember what fun we were having!

Thanks for all the responses, y'all. I'm sorry I was so late getting this one posted, but time is moving much too quickly here in Texas. I'll catch up someday and then won't know what to do with myself.
Keno, Your pics were good ones!! As Lynn said, no such thing as a bad one unless it's one that I misshot! I'm really good at taking photos of my nose while looking for a control button-- or worse! I get lots of pics of the roof of the car, or floormats, etc. Someday I hope to actually get a shot of what I was planning on.. I think I'll need more automation..
LA, you were sorely missed, as were all the absent ( Playing hookey) team mates. We're gonna have to give our Moderator more power!
Next time we'll all be there with bells on! So let's get ready for the planning of the next A Team adventure, or misadventure. For the A Team, it doesn't much matter, they are all adventures-- no more misadventures.

Fast Eddie, It was great to see you again and to have a good visit to the craps table and for both to win is a double stroke of luck! You sure did help to make our Mini Meet a huge success. Thanks for coming but I wish
you could have stayed longer... Maybe next time.
GMan, Thanks for the kind remarks. I really enjoyed meeting you and Fran. Y'all seemed like old friends immediately. I wish y'all could have stayed longer, too. I'm also sorry we couldn't get my laptop to working better for Lynn's DVD, which is awesome, by the way! I've seen it over and over and still notice things I hadn't seen before, including the music that played certain phrases at the most approiate times with the pics! LOL.
And wasn't that a scrawny trucker at the beginning-- looked malnourished to me!

Hey Frogman
Glad you finally slowed down long enough to write a report! After all that time spent in Tunica it's amazing to remember your name, much less all the good stuff! Enjoyed the report, wish we could have come too. All in all sounds like everyone had a great time.
And now you're off to Vegas????? No moss grows on this rolling stone does it???
Cheers

Luna, I suppose I should turn the shady side up, for a while.
That sunny side has faded everything and if moss could grow it would likely be gray or burnt orange.
