Thanks Pam.  I am soooooo jealous.  I really wanted to go but I joined this forum too late too find out about the meet, make plans, and put in for leave at work.  You guys obviously had an awesome time.  Can't wait to read the rest of the reports.
TunicaTraveler

Lisa,

Did you get left behind again on this trip???  I see you posting when you should have been in Tunica.  What gives?

Bobbie, I did indeed miss another meet. It all started with a work situation, which was followed by my mom having an accident and having to have a shoulder replacement.  Just one calamity after another it seems.
TunicaTraveler

Lisa,

I am sorry to hear!!!  I sure do hope your mom is OK.  Next time Lisa!, You and I will be there!  No issues, no excuses, no nothing.

The Girl Who Wasn’t There
       By Stew

I used to be a young and happy guy
And I even had a full head of hair.
Lately it’s been graying and thinning out
Caused by a little friend who wasn’t there!

This friend nearly always kept me laughing
So much I was often gasping for air.
But there were times when I really missed her- -
Those times when my little friend wasn’t there.

She’d go camping or shopping there in town
Or Bulldog’s football game, no matter where
And I’d be here waiting and wondering
Where she was; my dear friend who wasn’t there.

When she missed our Fall meet in Tunica
I worried, and lost - much more than my share!
Her stand-in stayed in the room while I lost,
Worried about my Friend who wasn’t there.

Oh, we took her sub to the best places
But she just smiled and didn’t seem to care
So, I headed home, broke, tired and hungry
Seeking my little Friend who wasn’t there.

When I told her that it was all her fault
(I had to brace myself to even dare!)
She answered with “That just can not be true..
‘Cause you know I’m the ‘Friend who wasn’t there’!”
GaPam

LOVE IT Stew!!  I can't wait to see the one that gets written when the friend is there the next trip. lol  Hopefully it doesn't involve security. LOL  What am I saying...it wouldn't be fun if it didn't huh? LOL

Thank you Stew, great poem!

Love ya bunches!
Jean

Stew,
How fun....and what a smile maker! I always find your poems so special for they are wonderful remembrances of our fun times together. Never matters to us where that fun leads us....LOL

Thanks for a really good one, Stew.
