Tunica Players Rock!

I wanted to be the first to post a trip report, but I guess Pam beat me to the punch.  Left Saturday morning for Jean's and stopped to get the donuts.  Didn't forget Cathi's favorite this time!  I got to Jean's and what a nice surprise to see Pam there!  I knew you weren't too tall Pam, but I didn't remember you being THAT short. LOL.  We took some pics, then Jean and I went out to eat.  I had one of the famous Horseshoes.  It was very good.  Thanks, Jean.  Then the trouble started.  We found out Stew was already in Tunica and Bev was leaving very early.  We couldn't stand it, so we loaded the car and started driving.  We decided we'd find a hotel on the way to sleep for a couple of hours.

Who would have known how challenging it would be to find a cheap, clean, decent hotel room.  Some people are pretty picky when it comes to where they want to stay.  We finally found a place and stopped.  I slept for a few hours.  Unfortunately, Jean couldn't sleep.  We got up early and headed out to Fitz.

Got there and found Bev tearing up the Stinkin Rich.  She had a great little skunk for me.  Thanks Bev!  We played for awhile, then went and had breakfast at the buffet.  Breakfast was fair.  Stew got there after breakfast and it was great to see him.  It's been WAY too long!  More playing and Brian got there.  I did get a couple of nice hits on Stinkin Rich that morning.  Here's a couple of hits from one bonus.

Buffy got there and it was great to finally meet her.  We all registered and played in the slot tournament, but no winners for us.  During and after all this was the room fiasco.  I knew they had a drawing the night before, so getting the room early would be unlikely.  I went down to the desk a little early anyway, just in case.  Of course I couldn't get the room, but it was lucky I made that trip, since I had been put in a non-smoking room.  The guy at the desk changed me to smoking and told me the people that had stayed in the room had already checked out, so I should be able to get the room before TOO long.  He suggested I come back around 2 or so.  After the slot tournament, around 2:30 I trudged back to the desk and was told the room still wasn't ready, but I should come back in about 15 minutes, because they usually released the rooms around 2:45.  The girl told me "check in time isn't until 3:00 pm"  Which, of course, I was aware of.  I waited until 3 pm and came back.  The room STILL wasn't ready.  I said "It's 3 pm isn't it?"  She then tells me "check in time isn't 3, it's between 3 and 6 pm".  I lost it at that point.  I was not a happy camper.  They finally changed us to a different room about 4 pm, and we got in.  We had a suite.  It was nice, but not the turret suite I was supposed to get, but, at that time, I didn't care.  I just wanted a room.

Stew's daughter Cheryl got in during the afternoon, and it was terrific to see her again as always.  Jim and Frank came over and we all (except for Buffy, as she had dinner plans) met in the room.  Everyone got to meet Pam, and we took some pics.  We also gave Brian a plaque for the wonderful job he does with the site and forum.  Even spelled his name right.  LOL.  After the get-together in the room, we all went to the buffet to eat.  Thanks for the comp for dinner Jim and Frank.  Steve and Macy and Macy's friend joined us as well.  It was great to meet them.  Dinner was fun, as usual.  We had an excellent server.  The food was pretty good.  I wasn't too crazy about the steak though.  After dinner we had our infamous slot pull.  We didn't win, but we got a little play out of it.

Played more after dinner.  Finally headed up to bed when I was just too tired to play anymore.  Down, of course, but it wasn't a total disaster, thanks to a few hits.

Up Monday morning and we had breakfast at the buffet again.  This time I was smart and got an omelet made to order, so breakfast was better.  We played around after breakfast for awhile, then Jean and I headed out to Resorts, Hollywood, and to pick up cigarettes.  I got some play at Resorts, but lost about $200 there.  Went over to Hollywood and managed to get a little hit on my freeplay, so I played on that while we were there.  Ended up walking out of there with $100 of it, so it was a net $100 loss between the 2 casinos.  Hollywood was ALL torn up.  They're replacing carpet, and have HUGE sections of the casino shut down, which, of course included the machine I wanted to play.  Picked up the cigarettes, and back over to Fitz.

We ate dinner at the buffet again and it was very good.  Jim and Frank had left on Sunday night, and Macy and Steve left Monday morning, so the group was getting smaller.  After dinner, more play.  A couple of more nice hits on Stinkin Rich for Monday.

Of course, after PROMISING myself I wouldn't play stupid Monday after the hits like I did on Sunday, I couldn't resist, and did the same thing.  Oh, well.  Played again until I was tired and up to the room, down a little more.  Still had some bankroll left though, and wasn't "borrowing" into another day's money.

Part 2 coming next.

Part 2

That's where the pics end, mostly because I kept forgetting to take them.

Up Tuesday morning and we had breakfast again at Fitz.  It was moving day, so we packed up and checked out, then moved over to Gold Strike.  Things started pretty ugly there, couldn't get much going.  Did have a couple of nice bonuses on one Stinkin Rich, but otherwise it wasn't looking too pretty.  We got checked in, and then Brian tells us he isn't staying.  Dang you, Brian!  Had an absolutely gorgeous suite at Gold Strike.  After meeting up in the room, and having some of the delicious Red Velvet Cake Bev made, it was time to walk over to the Shoe to play our half an hour before eating.  They actually paid me $1 to eat their buffet!  The buffet there was absolutely delicious, except the desserts.  Dessert seemed to be a downfalll on most of the buffets. The good part about going to get dessert was that we ran into G-Man (Gary) and Fran.  They were going to join us for breakfast on Wednesday, but, unfortunately, Fran got sick.  It was good to at least see you both for a few minutes.  After dinner, we rolled back over to GS, and started playing again.  I managed to turn my $200 free play into virtually nothing in the high limit area.  Only 1 of the 4 Stinkin Rich machines would even give me any play.  I bounced around playing a lot of different machines and had a few small hits to keep me going.  I stuck $100 in a 50 c Blazing Seven progressive where the progressive was over $600, which was high.  I lost it, but decided I "had a feeling", so I stuck another $100 in.  I didn't hit the progressive, but I ended up cashing a ticket out for $700, so I was happy.  Had a couple of small hits, then started losing again, so I went up to the room.

Up Wednesday morning and down to play.  It was pretty ugly.  We had breakfast in the buffet and it was not very good.  I was going to go back up to the room after breakfast, but Cheryl was leaving at noon, so I stuck around on the floor until after she left so I could say goodbye.  Cheryl, I'm so glad you were able to come this trip.  I was losing pretty badly, so I sent myself up to the room after Cheryl left and just read a book and chilled out.  Came down shortly before dinner, and cashed out a $75 profit on a quarter Diamond Jackpot machine.  Those were pretty lucky for me this trip.  I played them whenever I saw the bottom progressive was getting higher, and I managed to hit it every time, and cashed out a small profit.  Dinner was ok, but they changed their bread pudding a little bit, and I liked the old way better.  I played after dinner until about 12:30 or 1 a.m.  Got a lot of bonuses and nice hits on the Stinkin Rich by the escalator finally, and on the other one that had been paying me before.  Cashed out a little ahead on the 50c Blazing Sevens again too.  Went and played a quarter Blazing Seven progressive and hit it for about $390.  Then I started losing again, and went up to the room.

Up again Thursday and it was going home day.  Got packed up and put the stuff in the car.  Played a little before breakfast, and wasn't doing too well.   Jean, Stew, Bev and I had breakfast at the buffet.  It was very good Thursday morning.  They must have decided to put out fresh food. LOL.  Said goodbye to Stew, and was SURE I'd see Bev again before we left, so I screwed up and didn't say goodbye to her then.  After breakfast I went back to the Stinkin Rich machines, and managed to make up what I'd lost before breakfast plus $100.  One of the machines gave me a 35 spin bonus on the 1st spin.  Went to the front to play my free play and point play on $1 machines.  I managed to turn $200 freeplay plus $75 point play into a whopping $110.  WTG.  Well, at least I was up $200 for the morning.  We left and I never did get to say goodbye to Bev.

We decided to head over to Fitz to use our freeplay before leaving town.  I was going to play the Stinkin Rich by the bar, but I got there in time to see a lady hit a 35 spin bonus.  I went over to the other side with 2 machines side by side and set down at one.  I downloaded my free play and hit a bonus for almost $300.  I ended up cashing out a ticket for $300 on it.  Moved to the one next to it and stuck in $100.  I lost that, and decided to stick in my ticket and play it.  I hit some bonuses, but they weren't very good.  I decided once again to "play stupid" and upped my bet to 5 per line when I got down to about $200 left.  Well, I got a bonus, and ended up cashing out $300 after playing down to the nearest $100.  So, ended up leaving Fitz up $200 as well Thursday morning.

We headed out of town, and, as usual, stopped at Lambert's to eat on the way home.  It was delicious as usual.  Got to Jean's and I spent the night before heading home this morning.

Counted up the "damage" and I came home with about 2/3 of my bankroll.  If I hadn't played stupid so often, it could have been more, but I had a terrific time and I played my little heart out.  The only thing that could have made this trip better was if EVERYONE could have been there.
Jean

Terrific report Lynn! It was an awesome trip and like you the only thing better would have been if everyone could have made it.
They just better get their act together at the GS with the bread pudding....you just can't mess with a perfect thing.
Thanks for a fun time.

Great trip report.  Sounds like you had a great time.  I am so happy for you.  Next time I will be there.  I just hope everyone will be able to go as well.

Glad to hear you brought some of your money home.  Save that for the next trip.

Great report, great tip, Lynn! I know you all had tons of fun.  Could there be any other way???

I had to laugh when I read where you and Jean just decided to arrive earlier than planned. I knew that would happen!

Thanks for the fun report and especially for providing us with the BEST gambling site on net!

Great report Lynn!  My friends sure know how to have a great time.

Even though I didn't get to go I was proud that I had a "Mini-Me" to represent. LOL  Especially since I didn't even know I had one till now. ROFL  Y'all outdid yourselves on this one. LOL  I have now found out that there was ALOT of input on this. LOL

Lynn, WTG...2/3 now that's pretty darn good in my book.

Can't wait till the next one!  "mini-me" will just have to step aside for this one. LOL

Thanks for the report Lynn, it was great!
Stew

Great report Lynn!  I agree with you, Jean and others that the only way to improve these meets would be to have everyone of us there!
You guys did a top notch job.... What a shame for those who missed this one and what a shame for us who missed those who missed the meet!
I'm not home yet ( I'm visiting Cheryl in Texas) and I'm almost ready to go again. LOL.
Y'all did a great job with "Mini Me" also.  We had a stand in for our COA when the real one couldn't be with us in person!
WTG,  but !  We need the real one next time!
Thanks for all the good info on slots, for the great work on THE Plaque, for all the leadership on slots, for all the good meals
and good times as well as the planning and plotting! .
Thanks for the great report (S) which I enjoyed very much.
You done good, Girl!
