Tunica TripMy daughter and I left Enid Saturday afternoon so she could take me to the bus station in Oklahoma City. We stopped at Firelake Grand Casino east of Oklahoma City and played there awhile. I came out ahead.
I caught the bus about midnight. I didn't notice any Walmart desighner bags, but did see some clear plastic bags. On the return trip I saw several pretty floral print pillowcases. I think they make more of a fashion statement than the Walmart bags. The bus was late getting into Tunica and was also late on my return trip back to Oklahoma City. I found out since I didn't get a lot of sleep while I was in Tunica it was easier to sleep on the bus going back. LOL
Donna met me in Tunica and then back to Hollywood so I could freshen up and play a little bit before we headed off to the Sheraton. The door prizes and the hor's doerves weren't like they used to be. We have been spoiled the past. What they did have is still a lot more than most casinos would do. They did have an open bar and the Gambling Girls had some very nice door prizes. It was nice seeing some old friends there.
Back to the Hollywood, play a little bit and get ready to go to Fitz for the buffet and meet up with the other bunch. It was really nice meeting Ed, Gman, Fran and Bev. I was looking forward to seeing Lisa and Brian, but that was not to be. Jean comped Donna and I to the buffet and also the next day at Paula Dean's buffet. Thank you bunches, Jean. After eating we went to Gman's room to watch the video than Lynn made. I think more visiting was done than watching the video. I did watch the video after I got home and it was really great. The background music really added to it. Also, Lynn had a goodied bag for Doona and I which we really enjoyed. I now have a couple of T-Shirts so I can fit in with the rest of the crowd the next time we meet up.
The next day Lynn and Jean met up with me at Hollywood and then Donna joined us. We made plans to meet at Harrah's for Paula Dean's buffet. The buffet was really good. You got more of a "home cooked" tasted than most buffets. I had pickled beets, which could have been more pickled. The tuna salad was very good. I had some chicken pot pie, but it didn't make much of impression with me while I was eating it though. The vegetables I tried were all very good. For desert I had cheesecake and chocolate gooey butter cake. I thought the cheesecake was kind of tough, I like mine creamier. This might be the style that Paula Dean likes. It did have a good flavor. The chocolate cake was the best part of the meal. I could make a meal on just that. LOL
Stew and I tried to make plans for some keno lessons, but it didn't work out. Maybe next time.
I played mostly keno machines. I held mine own the first day, the second day wasn't too good and the last day broke even with what I had started with that morning.
My son-in-law met me in Oklahoma City about 3 in the morning. He had been playing at Firelake, so we went back there. I won back the money I lost in Tunica while I was there. I finally got home about 3 in the afternoon. I was past exhausted. I'm getting to old for this. LOL
I had a really great time in Tunica. I really enjoyed meeting up with the old friends and meeting new ones.

Keno - I got a kick out of your description of the "designer" bags on the bus. My personal fav is the Wal-Mart print bags, although those pillowcase one sound very stylish too. I'm gonna be keeping that in mind.
As for your gambling report, sounds like you had a great time. And, what a deal to win some before you leave then recoup your losses on the way home. Can't hardly beat that.
We were both more than sad to have not made it down. I can't tell you how much it means to me to see all of "my people". I whined about it many times during the week. Anyway, mark my words, we won't miss out on the next get together.
Enjoyed your great report!

Keno, glad to hear you got home safe and sound. I'm like Lisa, I laughed when I read your description of the pillowcase bags. The gambling wasn't too bad for you, it sounds like. And, to make up your losses on your return? That's a real bonus. I can't believe none of us thought to take pics at Paula Deen's! Well, I can believe I did, because I really didn't get many pics. The camera was just too heavy to carry around after the surgery, and I knew others were getting them at other places. None of us just thought about it at Paula's. It was a great time, though.
I'm so happy you were able to make this trip. I know the bus ride had to be tiring-glad to hear you could sleep on it. These Tunica trips do seem to take awhile to get over. Thanks for the good times and the trip report.

Keno,
It was so good to see you and Donna again. Seems like we all did more eating and talking than gambling. The way I was losing that was a very good thing...LOL.
Wasn't it fun at Paula Deen's? I have to say 95% of everything I tried was very good. Like Lynn, I can't believe we didn't get any pictures there. I hate to admit this, but my camera was in my purse. Don't ask where my brain was....
You did great making up any losses on the way home....WOW! That's great!
I look forward to the next time we can all do it again.

Great report, Keno! And a great time for me as well. The food was delicious and Paula's place surprised me by being so good. Everything except the corn on the cob and the pulled pork was just really, really good.
The company was as good as the food- or even better! I had a great time at all of our meals.
I'm sorry our Keno lessons didn't work out, but as you say, next time!
Thanks for the swell report, Keno.

Keno,
Thanks for the great report. Looks like you had a really good time. Meeting up with friends makes the gambling good whether you win or lose. Glad to read that you did ok with the gambling.

Keno,
How many floral designer bags did you pick up? I may have to have one of those. LOL
I sure wish I could have been there with all of you. I know it would have been so much fun. I'm glad you were able to go and meet up with Donna.
I swear you've got so much energy and I don't know if I could keep up with you, but I'd sure like to try it soon. lol
Sounds like the gambling went better for you and got even better later. wtg!! Way to recoup the losses. Gotta love those comebacks.
Keno, I so enjoyed your trip report and hope to be a part of it next time.
Hugs,
Pam
