Update on Firelake CasinoI got a flyer from them and they have craps. This is first time I've heard of craps being in an Indian casino. They have it Thursday through Sunday from 6 p.m. - 2 a.m. $1 min - $50 max. In Sept there is no ante.

Keno, thanks for keeping us updated on the casinos in your neck of the woods.

Sounds like a good deal, Keno, except for the -- ante???
Playing dollar craps is a good way to learn the game. If that " Ante " isn't too steep.
Go for it, Keno. It's fun.

strange hours... can they not afford to pay the dealers on those games during other hours?

Stew, I'll print out your instructions and give it a try sometime.
Brian, maybe there is not enough interest in it at the other times. Who knows why casinos do what they do. LOL

Keno,
If we have any forum readers from OK, I'm sure your info is very appreciated. You have done a terrific job. Who knows I may be going that way someday and I'll just print out your info.
Thanks a bunch Keno!

Keno,
There are two Firelake casinos. There is the original (old) one and Firelake Grand. The old one is on the south side of Shawnee. Firelake Grand is on I-40 just west of Shawnee.
Firelake Grand has had craps for some time. They have two tables. But, it is not real craps because they can't use dice. Instead, they use playing cards from a deck comprised of aces through sixes. After bets are down, the dealer throws out two cards and that is the "roll". Players do not handle the cards. The ante is $.50 at the beginning of the roll.
As Stew can confirm, I love craps. But, I have never bothered with the Indian version.
They have a roulette wheel which is the same. Instead of a little ball falling in a slot, they use playing cards on the wheel. Picture a "big six" wheel on its side. I've never played it either.
The blackjack rules usually are not too bad and I will play some blackjack on those occasions when they do not charge the ante. But, I refuse to pay 50 cents just to get my cards.
The poker rooms, however, are real. No ante. Just blinds and a house rake like LV or Tunica. I do, on occasion, go play poker.
Now, you know why I save my money and go someplace "real" rather than drive down the road to one of these places.

Ed, that is a really good explanation. I had no idea that a casino played craps with cards instead of dice. I have done that at home many times, long ago when teaching friends or family the game and could not locate dice. Mine were continually getting lost, or hiding out some place where I had put them for safe keeping and easy location.
They just seemed to run away-- maybe that's why they call them "Galloping Bones!
I also had never heard of an ante in a craps game! LOL.
I confess that I'm a country boy, but I didn't think THAT country!
Thanks for the explanation! You done good!

Ed, thanks for the clarification on Firelake Casino. All I knew about it was what was on the flyer.
