Post subject: Great-Grandmother Hits Big
|
|
|
|
Eighty-year-old great grandmothers shouldn't have to go to work anymore. That's not something Rebecca Berry will ever have to worry about again.
Monday night Berry played a $1 progressive slot machine at Mystic Lake Casino and won more than $1.3 million.
Berry, who lives in Hawaii, comes to Minnesota a couple times a year to visit two of her daughters and usually makes several trips to the casino while here.
She said she had a feeling about the Wild Cherry machine that ultimately paid big. "I would play, walk away, play, walk away, and I kept coming back to the same machine for two days."
Back in Hawaii Berry works as a secretary for U.S. district court judge. "I was planning on retiring early next year but I'm going to call him and say I quit," she laughs.

Damn! I've played that machine before, too. Well, I don't know if it's the exact machine, but I've played that progressive. _________________

they have a wild cherry with a million dollar progressive? That's pretty impressive and setting themselves up for a big loss in a hurry _________________ W2G free since 1976
It's better to be out playing the slots than sitting at home wondering if they're hitting.

That is wonderful that the grandmother won the big bucks!!! Just too bad she didn't win it 20 years ago so she could have retired early.
Working till I am 80 is not something I want to do. I am hoping to hang up my hat at age 64. Time will tell.
God Bless that woman! I hope she enjoys that money.

Wouldn't that be some retirement! Of course if I wait till I'm 80 I'll just have to move into a casino to spend it faster...LOL _________________ Jean

Jean,
I'm with you on that. Just find me at the Blackjack table. I will be the one with $10,000 in chips in front of me.

I can't see me working until I'm 80 years old either! I hope to retire at at 62-65. I think anyone working at that age deserves to win that much money! I don't blame her...I would quit my job too! LOL
