Post subject: Last Seven Dollars

Being bored and alone on Saturday afternoon, and after checking and rechecking the bank account, I decided I had enough “left over” money to make a quick trek to Tunica. I didn’t even bother to call to check on rooms (figured I didn’t stand a chance on such short notice anyway).
I arrived at Hollywood at 6:30pm on Saturday. $250 gone before 7:30 even arrived! I decided to walk over to Resorts. Had a little bit of luck there, but in short order, I had shot the whole wad of what I had originally intended to spend. So, off to the ATM I went—this is where the story gets interesting.
OK—first trip to the ATM, and spent at Resorts. Over to Hollywood, and ATM trip #2. By 10:30, I was down to $8 and out of cigarettes. Crises on both fronts! I walked out to my car and grabbed another pack of cigarettes. I decided that I would have a drink at Resorts, and weigh my options. So, after I tipped the bartender, I had 7 $1 bills left. Instead of taking my last seven dollars home, I parked in front of a Star Drifter penny machine.
I stuck in my seven $1 bills, and played the minimum 25 cent bet. And whadya know, bonus pops up, and I won somewhere around $15. So now, my $7 is up to $20. I took the $20 to a Cleopatra penny machine, playing all lines at 1 per, and hit a bonus that retriggered twice, and cashed out a ticket up over $40. I redeemed my ticket so I’d have some ones for drink tips, and took my two twenties around to other machines. I went to a penny 5-reel Double Diamond, playing probably 27 cents, and in a few spins, hit the staggered bars/diamonds on multiple lines for another $20. Cashed out up to $42. I put one twenty into the Life of Luxury progressive and played 30 cents and hit the bonus, plus two life of luxury bonuses winning small progressives each time, had the ticket up over $60, but cashed out at $50. I took this ticket over to a Treasures of Troy machine, and was feeling lucky so I played 80 cents (LOL). And I got a bonus, and won another $15-$20. At this point I think I had my $7 up to around $100, and decided that I was feeling lucky enough to try back on some of my favorite (money-eating) machines.
Back down to the Red Hot Jackpots playing $2/spin. I hit the bonus several times winning the second-level progressive twice, and cashed out a ticket at $100. At this point I had a $71 ticket and a $100 ticket. Next to penny Stinkin’ Rich at $2/spin. I got a 10 spin bonus with two retriggers for a total of 60 spins and won $150. By the time that I cashed out and totaled the two tickets together, I had $240 from my original $7.
Had I been smart, I would have taken the money and run. But, of course, being the degenerate gambler that I am, I went back over to Hollywood (bad mistake), and proceeded to play until the $240 was gone, and I only had $1 left. At this point, it was almost 4:00 am. I had played from 10:30 to 4:00 on $7. When I got ready to leave, it was storming to beat the band, and raining so hard that I would not have been able to see to get home, so I sat in the car to wait out the rain and fell asleep. By the time that I woke up, it was late enough that the breakfast buffets were open, so I had a little breakfast at Resorts, and headed for home.

Jim,
That was a fantastic report on the return of the Swallows to San Juan Capistrano. I have been enlightened!

I think I'll just take $7 with me next trip, maybe that's a magic number.
I wonder what I'll do after the first ten minutes for the rest of the trip? LOL
Great comeback Jim!
Funny thing though, with my CRS I can't seem to remember what trip it was that you did this??? _________________ Jean

| I'm thinking I may try this new technique this weekend. Maybe take $20 at a time and see how long I can make it last. |
